Dear reader
I’m holed up in a tent in a thunderstorm on Penang Island in Malaysia. What better time to write in my diary? It’s a little cramped, but otherwise really peaceful. The rolling thunder is a great reminder of how small we all are even just in comparison to the forces of nature. The rain has brought the temperature down to a blissfully freezing 27 degrees, and the pitter-patter on my tent adds a layer of peacefulness to the power of the storm. (It’ll stay peaceful just so long as the rain stays on and doesn’t venture in the tent.)
It is a while since I’ve published, and there’s a bit of groundswell of discontent. Thank you for the compliment that represents 🙏. The truth is I’m having tech troubles. Sigh. Who loves computers? No? Well, please let me join your club. 😵💫 I’m very grateful to Cam and Warwick for all their efforts to get this back online, but at this stage I really can only publish text and no photos. I know I know, the photos are far more engaging than my verbosity.
If you want the instant gratification of eye candy rather than the hard work of reading my ramblings, then head on over to check out my relatively new but now regularly-updated “rideforhope” Instagram account, or @danielmuggeridge on YouTube where longer videos are occasionally uploaded. You can follow and subscribe to stay connected, and I usually also reference the YouTube videos from an entry in this diary. Meanwhile we’re working hard on getting photo galleries working in the diary again, and hopefully you’ll start to see that come through shortly.
Thank you for your patience. I’m working on mine, too. Not particularly successfully.
So, for a little bit, diary entries are coming ex-photo. Here goes.
