Bush bikes and tech dramas

Well yesterday was a blast… out with a mate on my Honda CRF450 out at Narbathong ploughing through waist-deep puddles and sliding around muddy clay that is more slippery than I am skilled at riding. But so much fun.

Rob got me into dirt biking only a couple of months back, and I’m still learning to adjust riding style from decades of road riding. Its a completely different beast. I now wonder how its taken me to my late 40s to get into bush riding! Anyway, I’m there now and can’t un-know that it is the best way to spend a Saturday.

That led to spending Sunday recovering, as it happens. I’m pretty stiff and sore. I guess I’ll need to harden up to do this day-in-day-out for months from Melbourne to London. I’m working on the premise that experience ”for” the ride will come from actually starting the ride, and that my unusually-high dose of stubbornness will see me through the difficult times.

I’ve also had dramas this week with killing my @muggeridge.com.au email when I set up this WordPress blog. I think I’ve now got both email and the diary working, but I guess only time will really tell. It is quite telling how much of a bother it has been to have the email dysfunctional for the week, so I’m hoping that issue is now well and truly dealt with.
